Preparing for Te Korowai

To get things underway, the Te Korowai Programme Manager will work with you to lock-in a date for an on-site visit.
They will then assign and introduce two assessors to your council.
We recommend that you schedule a meeting with elected members and participating staff early in the process, to brief them on the programme, the reasons for getting involved and what benefits you’re hoping to achieve. It is important for everyone to understand this process as a way to push continuous improvement, rather than an audit. Everyone involved will need to engage in the process openly and honestly to have maximum value.
The Programme Manager can also hold on-site/online briefings and information sessions for staff or elected members if needed and can put you in contact with other councils that have already completed the process.
Before the on-site visit you will need to:
- Participate in an online pre-visit meeting.
- Issue an integrity survey – a self-assessment.
- Ensure all self-assessments are completed via the performance assessment framework which will be provided to the assessors before the on-site visit.
- Prepare an agenda for the two-day visit.
